Electric field and magnetic field

EMF can be divided into two elements as “electric field” and “magnetic field”.


EF and MF differ from each other in behavior.


EF occurs when applied a voltage.

In other words, EF occurs when inserted a plug of home appliances into an outlet (socket).


MF occurs when carried an electric current.

In other words, MF occurs when turned ON a switch of home appliances.


In addition, EF propagates along a surface of any objects even though those are non-conductors such as woods and plastics.


MF omnidirectionally propagates penetrating any objects even though those are concrete or lead.



Taking a microwave oven with its switch turned on for considering above behaviors in actual situation.



The switched-on oven occurs both EF and MF.

Under the situation, EF is propagating along outer surface of the oven and even along the top board and the wall behind the oven.

MF is propagating inside the below shelf and the next room penetrating the top board and the wall behind the even.
